The Monomoy Shootout 2010
7/30/10 Well this is it everybody, The 2nd annual Monomoy Shootout is upon us! Looks like we
will be having some decent weather for tomorrow. The weather channel is calling for a sunny day with
light winds under 10 mph. North West wind under 10 mph until about 8:00 or 9:00 am when it will
shift to the North East around 8 mph. It's pretty safe to say that fog will not be an issue!
Not that many people went out today due to the wind however the few people that did make it
out did very well. Close to the 3 mile line and East of the new cut was holding fish over 40 inches.
They were caught on diamond jigs.
At Monomoy point, high tide for tomorrow will be at 3:44 AM. The out going tide is usually the
best one to fish the rips. If you can make it to the point first and then come up to the new cut, that
should give you a good chance at getting the big boys. Once 9:00 am rolls around, the fishing seems to
slow. The fishing off the new inlet is good all day long. As long as the tide is moving you should have
no problem finding bass.
Thanks to all the people that entered the Monomoy Shootout. Good luck to all and Tight Lines!!!
