Weve been fishing around the clock so Im way behind with my online activity. I apologize for that, but Im playing catch up tonight and tomorrow night. I will have 7 new videos on the Castafari Monster Club IPTV Show at www.castafari.com.
The fishing has been fantastic. We found the bass in cooler water south of the Vinyard around the backside near Nomans in water temps in the mid 50's. Huge schools of fish that we have been able to chunk up using pogies and livelining them as well. Weve caught a few fish in the high 30 pound mark and dozens in the high 20's. Most all the fish are over 36 inches and loaded with lice so theyre just showing up still. It took a couple of trips to find the fish, but we found them after a litle recon. I think bigger fish are still coming up from NY and NJ. We have a couple more bass trips and then were switching gears.
The tuna fishing has been great on all three trips we have taken so far, both out east of Chatham and at the Bank. We have ben focusing our efforts at the Bank, but will probably be heading east on Thurs. The bank is loaded with bas and big sand eels, and some blues mixed in too. But there are also a lot of nice fish mixed in as well. Weve caught 73 plus inch fish on the last two trips so its nice to see the bigger mediums still around. Most of the bites are coming on the kite baits, except on the foggy days where the balloon b aits work well. its definitely a result of visibility. I found a nice pod of fish northeast of the southeast corner last week and we had good action getting 2 to the boat. That was Friday. i saw a ton of stick boats out there too. The good news is a huge pod of fish is moving up through Chatham...big fish too. Several high 70's and 80 inch fish caught over the weekend. Though now it seems there are more smaller fish there so Im wondering if the bigger fish kept moving. We will soon see. Trying to decide whether or not to fish out east or at the bank on our next trip out. Gotta go bass fishing. Tight lines.
