We headed back out to Georges Bank to chase more mambo tuna. We caught 3, but broke one off at the boat when the dart hit the leader. Seas were rough which made things a bit challenging. The fish were nice quality too, and one fish we actually trolled up...80 incher which ate a horse ballyhoo. That was pretty cool dropping outriggers 130 miles offshore and trolling across the sandy shallows of the bank which are loaded with half beaks...literally everywhere. I just wanted to test my intuition and it worked. But it was hard to stop chummingThe Castafari was the only sport boat out there except for one on Thursday. We enjoyed fishing alongside the heavy hitters who all seem to have tuna tails dangling off their midship cleats by lunch time. Our biggest was just shy of 600. What a cool fishery though. We captured some incredible footage again and will be featuring it on the Castafari Monster Club. Theres nothing quite like the feeling of running out into the forbidden zone and fishing one of the most historical spots on earth, catching some fish, and getting the hell out of there
We will be back at it on Tuesday as soon as the wind stops howling. If you're interested in an offshore adventure on the Castafari, nows the time. The fishing action is off the charts....and not so far away from home either! But either way the Castafari can go wherever we need to go. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
