Greg, I specifically did not attack you because, based on your posts here and other places, I've come to the conclusion that you are a sincere, well-meaning guy, albeit very misguided and wrong on this issue. My unkind words were specific to another and you've already dealt with that. I can assure you, however, that your warning to nmfs was met with derision and most likely a round of eye-rolls and laughter by the fish-o-crats @ nmfs. Do you know how many times they've been sued? Suffice it to say hundreds, perhaps thousands of times. I watched several of these suits play out. You really aren't scaring them, trust me. Nmfs has been waiting for years to find an excuse to use the control date and if you think for one minute that, once enacted, it will be deemed anything other than enforceable, you are terribly mistaken. If you continue down this path, you'l basically be putting yourself out of business and I'm pretty sure that's 180 degrees from your intent. Catch 'em up...

I may not be understanding this correctly, but you are saying that since you cannot keep them anymore it makes all your tuna gear useless? This seems a little extreme. If you were investing thousands of dollars in gear just so you are able to eat the tuna it would have taken a long time to come out on top of that rather than just buying the tuna.


I know most people truly enjoy fishing for them, why is it no longer enticing to go since they cannot be kept?
