    Hightimes,

In an earlier post you said the time of year did not matter. Now your contradicting yourself. It seems to me that for you it's not about saftey at all. You seem to have a beef with this guy. If that is the case than take it up with him privately instead of airing it out in a public forum.

He was nice enough to offer a canyon trip to anyone who was willing to respond in a public forum. He posts pictures and video and gives fishing reports. Sounds like a pretty nice thing to do from where I sit. Taking people you have never fished with for an off shore tuna trip brings along with it a built in assumption that not everything will go smoothly.

Sounds like you would love to be him.

    I am curious about something.

While I have no idea how much crew members were charged or how those costs were arrived at, I'm curious how a single edge trip could cost the boat well over $3k. I'm guessing that is in the ballpark based on the comments above, but again, just a guess.

Even if they burned 600 gallons of fuel, that would be less than $2k at the commercial dock. Even with the cost of bait, food, and gear (all supplied by the boat I guess?), where does the other $1000+ come from?

I'm just curious. It was still a hell of a cool trip. Congrats again.
