We are headed to puerto vallarta the day after thanksgiving for a few days of kite fishing mexico style. I know you were looking to be a bit further north but I am happy to pass along a report if you can wait that long.

I was there few years ago got to take a tour of the Go Fisch watch for their boat on the way outta the marina off the starboard side. As for fishing ask to see the gear I was dissappointed w/ the quaility only trolled 3 rods w/ half spools of line. It was summer when I was there so thats not prime time down there so maybe thats why poor rigging but I wasent happy.

I have a good friend who runs Red Rum Sportfishing and I have sent several customers out with them. Top notch outfit and I would book them. Good luck. Capt. Eric

It's been a while since I was there. But there are many boats chartering. The Pisces fleet had all Bertram 31s, did very well. Fred Archer fishes out of Cabo...the guy is a legend. You might look him up. No lack of good charter guys in Cabo......
good luck!! |

Was down there this past February with some guys from up here. We fished with Picante Fleet and found them to be excellent! Capt and mate were great guys and worked their butts off for us. Equuipment and boats were in good shape too.
You may also want to do a search on SFC as there was a thread on another forum (I think the World Wide one) that asked this same question, and it got a lot of responses from many knowledgeable people. Send me a PM if you want, and I can give you a bunch of first hand info about places to hit (and to skip)! |

Thanks for the help guys
Thanks guys. I think we are between Pisces and Red Rum. My buddies from San Diego also have a 58 Bertram that they fish Cabo in every winter. We may end up fishing with them if the dates match up.
Thanks again! |

Cabo Fishing
I just got back from Cabo and fished with the Red Rum gang. No complaints. They put me on fish. We missed the one Marlin we saw. I was with my girlfriend and we took this trip as a good day on the water - fishing and checking out the sights.
One thing though - is that they do too much. The first two Dorado/mahi they grab the reels, they set the hook and then hand you the rod and you bring it in on a fighting chair with a Penn 50 (not too challenging). After you get back to the dock take some fillets right to a dock side restaurant and they will cook it up for you. We brought three fillets and they made one blackened, one breaded and one grilled. Fantastic. Then a guy will offer you a shot of tequila out of a squirt gun.
