A little good news for a dreary day in Northern New England

I made contact with a delightful Customer Care agent at AFTCO.com

    Laura@aftco.com

She was more than helpful and explained that I had purchased my Roller Troller during a production run of an inferior design .....she's sending a NEW VERSION.....to replace the old....

And, I think I'll buy some red Loc-Tite to bullet proof the other outrigger clip that's still intact.

Spread the word- Aftco is good to their promise!

    Outrigger clips

I found the rupp single pin to be the easiest to use. They are called Klickers. There a few reasons. They will always release. It doesn't matter which way you put the line through the clip. Which it does on Aftcos and knock outs. Also I rig my outriggers with snap swivels so if I do blow up a clip. It can be easily replaced.

    Extra clips are a must.

I agree CR B- we learned that on the water last fall....and for some reason I hadn't purged my tackle bag of that one extra pair of JC clips (or whatever the brand was)

An outrigger clip is like any other piece of equipment they need maintenance and attention, they are not infalable and they do break, usually from lake of attention. Tournament time they get daily maintenance, of lubrication and adjustment, they do wear and take some pretty serious shots at strike. A bit of attention and they do work and work well no matter the brand.

They are necessary and alot cheaper to replace than a bent outrigger, seen it, been there.
