    Boycott Costa Del Mar

I just don't understand it....a billion dollar sunglass company like Maui Jim can fix a broken pair of sunglasses for 10 bucks and have them back to you in a week but Costa Del Mar...took two weeks to call about the broken glasses my brother sent in, than they said it would be 4 to 6 to fix and re-ship the glasses back to Miami...from Daytona????? 6 weeks???? and they want 190.00 bucks to boot...that is just awful customer service...honestly when you spend 200 dollars on a oair of glasses in this case two pairs were broken, obviously you are a good customer and then to be treated that way...I am switching to Maui Jim, I am all done with Costa....

Mine are there being fixed now. With all the charges to inspect and repair my sunglasses I'm quite sure I re-bought my sunglasses.....and I'm sure there is 500% markup on them to boot......

I hope I have them back for "tuna time"

I really like the 580 lenses, but I'm done with Costa as well. Over the years I've probably had no less than 6 pairs - early on, when the frames broke, or the lenses popped out, Costa would repair or replace them - worst case for a small handling fee - the last pair that broke - the lenses popped out - Costa wanted $60 to "repair" - they were less than a year old and very lightly used...

It also took 3 weeks for them to look at the glasses and tell me that there would be a $60 charge...

the little "C" logo fell off my g/f's right after she bought them and they still charged the handling fee. unreal

With all the shitty customer service I hear about them, I'd never buy a pair.

I had to deal with costas customer service this fall after I managed to crack a lens. The only complaint I had is that it took a while. But I was definitely sent a whole new pair of glasses for $63.
My dad had to send his out this winter to and he got his back in 2 weeks with new arms.
    We have no complaints.

I posted about the same thing years ago and got slammed. Clearly manufacturers defect and they charged basically for a new pair. When I first bought costas (that same pair) it was at a boat show and they had told me there was a lifetime warranty.

I found another brand I love that are inexpensive. Flying fisherman... 20-25 bucks, great fit and great lense. They have a glass lense model that you can really see with (thats the whole idea) that I really love. They do give up after a year or so so I get a new pair... At that price I can afford it.

interesting......about a month ago I sent my 580's back with a broken frame and the $10 shipping and handling fee that was required. I received an email in under a week saying that they would fix them for $31 if that was ok with me. I ok'ed the service, and in 7 more days I received a bran new pair of $250 glasses in the box with the price tag on them. I was extremely happy with the service they provided me.

Overall I have been happy with Costa, especially since getting a pair with the 580's.

I have never had to deal with their customer service cause I always loose them before they break.....
