    Boston Harbor this weekend

planning on heading out in the harbor after work tomorrow, as well as sat & sun. took the boat out last friday and marked decent sized bait balls in several places from the bridge out to castle island. birds were out there, but it was so windy and choppy, they didn't really look as if they were picking up anything on the surface. side note - i haven't seen any fishing from the charlestown bridge this year?? is it illegal now? for 13+ years during my morning commute, i could always tell when the fish had arrived by the guys fishing and catching fish from the bridge. this year, not so much. has anyone been fishing the harbor at all? hopefully i'll have something to post in the next few days.

didn't make it out to fish the harbor. got a late call to fish the cape. glad i did. first trip of the year, fished the bay side and had a blast. fish weren't big, but there were plenty of them. all 30"-33". first fish caught while catching bait. fished the incoming and a few hours of the outgoing. weather was crap for most of the morning, but after early morning rain, and cloudy skies, it turned sunny around noon for the outgoing. great first trip - felt awesome to feel the fish engulf the baits, make a run for it and then set the hook and start the fight. used my lightweight setups which increased the fun aspect. used both weighted and nonweighted baits successfully.
