Tide was low at 9:45 so I didnt get out till about noon.Took 3 guys with me they wanted to fill up on flounder!!!!Well Ive been fishing these waters for well over 20 years and I have yet to see ANYBODY catch flounder. When I was a kid my father use to take me and my brother to Hurlys in Quincy and we would rent a little boat for the day and catch flounder in Quincy Bay.We used to fill a cooler up to the top in about a hour back then!!!Then we used to take the fish back to the dock at hurleys and there would be a dozen kids standing around waiting for guys to come in and they would clean the fish.I remember they charged a dime a fish!!!LOL!!!!!For ten years now if not more the flounder have not been around at all!!!Well I went down to Ricks at the rotary and got 3 dozen worms and some flounder rigs.I asked him if anybody has been catching anything and he said that the Flounder are back and that they are everywhere!!!Well we got out to georges island around 1:00p.m. tied up to a mooring ball I put some clams in a chumbag and our lines went in.Within 2 minutes we had our first flounder and for 3 hours after we would still be catchimg them.Right around high tide at about 4.00p.m. the bite was gone and so were we.I noticed when we left there had to be 20 boats in the area!!!!And EVERYBODY was catching flounder.Well are total was 18 good size flounder 1 schoolie and 6 or 7 skate. What suprised me other than the flounder was that there were NO DOGFISH!!!!!!Not bad for someone that hasnt seen a flounder in over 15 years!!!!

The flounder fishery in boston Habba has been on a very good recovery for 10 to 15 years now and getting better every year. I started fishing the habba again about 7 years ago and found the flounder fishing althow not what it was in the past very good and have limited out every time i have gone.
Nice to see the Flounder making a comeback. I too remember the days of filling coolers with blackbacks. When I was doing some Lobstering I would stop by Sheeps for 15 minutes to catch 10 fish for Lobster bait
I was flying in from Philly yesterday morning at about 7am and there were multiple hundreds of birds circling and diving near deer island right where the channel splits. I know that isn't the best info out there but I was watching it saying "Damn I wish I had a boat I could run out there with"
