    "Boston Cod Party"

"I have a Dream!" (M.L.K.)We need to make the general public aware of our situations with more actions like the March on Washington.

I would like to organize "The Boston Cod Party". My goal would be to get as many fishermen as we can, dressed like the Gloucester fisherman. We gather the press and many organizations who's goals are the same as our own. We have a rally in Boston Harbor We flood the harbor with fishing boats and make the government and our citizens realize how important it is to preserve our industry. We need to take the same rebel attitude our forefathers took with the Boston Tea Party. What better place could we have this, being the Massachusetts motto is "Land of the Sacred Cod".

I think 4th of July would be a perfect time to do this. Anyone interested please post your thoughts. If we organize we could get other fishermen from other parts of the country to do this in their Harbors at the same time.

I like the idea........But I think by dumping dead fish into the harbor we would only be shooting ourselves in the foot. I think that would only be giving the far left, granola eating, save a gay whale, tree huggin SOB's more amunition for their asinine cause. Now if the cod or said fish we were dumping were already filleted then I think we would be all set.

I agree with the sentiment of not creating any damages that could be used against us. But we should portray how important our industry is and our disgust of how the government is using science that is flawed to shut us down.
Maybe just a display of fishing boats clogging up the harbor.

We need some sort of public display to express the fact that the science behind the laws is not viable.

We could dump an American Icon The MacDonald's Fillet a fish sandwich.

I catch more tuna than Pollock maybe Pollock is endangered?

Hmmmmmmm............Speaking of John Kerry.........Doesn't he own an expensive beach front home somewhere down the cape? Maybe that could be the location where we do our great cod dump?

I think an excellent idea, and I think you Greg, have the ability to pull it off.

July 4, excellent symbolism, falls on a weekend--important-- you need a lot of boats for it to carry weight and the hoped for media coverage.

Keep the message simple, and make sure any/all involved are on the same page. Identify the pitfalls before hand and avoid. Stay away from a lot of commercial or recreational specifics--always open to counter attack. Do include the recent and rather astonishing Executive Directive that public input will no longer be accepted on fishery decisions. Government--for the people, of the people, and by the people.
