Bonito Offshore?
Trolling on saturday we boated a tuna with dark lines running down its back. It was probably 24" long. I thought it was a bonito, but my buddy said that they are not offshore, and it was a false albacore. I'm not sure i believe him...anyone shed any light on this?

Offshore, I'd bet on a False Albacore - If the lines are wavy and curly like the pic above OR Skipjack Tuna if the lines are thick like the first pic. Second pic below is an atlantic bonito.
Both Skipjack and Atlantic Bonito are good eating fresh. False albacore isn't...
