Bluefin rule: Portland and Fairhaven meetings, reminder!

We did a great job filling the room in Gloucester, but there is more work to do! There are two very important public hearings remaining on the proposed rule. The first is Monday, April 25th at 6pm at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland, ME. The second meeting is on Tuesday, April 26th at 6pm at the Seaport Inn in Fairhaven, MA.

These rooms need to be packed, so spread the word and please show up!

Curt and I have been spreading the word and with a night meeting most people do not have the work excuse. Hopefully we can get the guys and gals from RI, Cape Cod, South Shore and Southeast MA to fill the room. If we do not shame on us and you are part of the problem not the solution if you can not attend for a solid reason. If you have that valid reason and can not attend, YOU MUST SEND IN A LETTER. No excuses, attend write or we will have no fishing in the future as the quota keeps getting cut.

Letters are important, but packing those rooms and showing everyone from NMFS, as well as anyone from Congress and the states, that this issue is important. Ideally everyone should be doing both, but showing up at those meetings is critical.

horse, reason Brad likes letter rather then face to face is exactly that. He and the rest of NMFS do not have to hear and see the anger in the eyes of us fishermen nor have thier ears ringing with same anger. Meeting ARE important. It puts a face with the message. not critisizing, just my 2 cents

Great, guys! And please spread the word on other sites, Facebook, email lists, etc. We fought hard to get these meetings added to the list so that people in the two areas would have a chance to speak up! These are important meetings!
