Blue Ocean Sportfishing Update 8/22

Tonight 8/19 we had the Anthony Krupinski Charter of 6 out for an evening of night Striped Bass.

We drifted the inlet from 6Pm to 10PM using lives eels. We went thru almost 2 dozen. Plenty of blue fish ripping the baits in half....a couple of lost rigs and a few run offs that they couldnt set the hook on unfortunately.

Conditions were decent as the tide slowed from 8-9PM...but when the tide turned and the wind switched NE the inlet got pretty ruff.

Very nice group of guys...

Today 8/21 we had the Sal Litto Charter of 5 out for a day of Fluke Fishing with Angelo and their kids.

We left the inlet by 10AM and headed east to the cheese house working bucktails in 35-45 feet of water. We were imediatelly into fish. After 5-7 short Fluke going 18-20 inches we work our way west to 50-60 feet of water....Nada...

We continued west and south of the sea buoy onto 65-80 feet of water and started picking away at fish....multiple shorts and rods bending all over... finally netted two keeper fluke around 21 inches. It was a tough pick but we worked hard and managed to get them some fillets for the grill.

Very nice group of guys with their kids...Thanks!

Today 8/22 we had the Mike Bush Charter of 4 onboard for a day of Fluking. Mike came along with his son Victor and his freinds Alec and Joe.

We started off SE of the Sea Buoy in 75 feet of water and were immediately into fish. 20 Fluke came in and were released before Victor got his first keeper fluke. Back at the scales she came in at 6.3 pounds.! Way to got Victor!

We continued to work the same area for another 10 just shy fluke which we released, a few Skates and Sea Robbins as well. Alec hooked up later in the day with a nice 5.5 pound fluke. That was quickly followed by Joe and Mike who both reeled in 21 and 22 inchers respectivley.

Great day on the water and a fantastic group! It's great to get the junior anglers on the fish and most important invloved in our sport!
