Block Island area

I'm coming up to R.I. in about a week. I will be towing up my 26' cc from Maryland.
I'll be fishing in the Block Island area. Will I have a chance at some Blue fin? Is there enough Cod around to target?

I would be thankful for any suggestions,

Michael

Block Island is Dogfish city right now. They are everywhere. A buddy actually spun his prop hub heading to the SE corner there are so many of them. This makes it tough fishing for bass as the Dogfish will chew every eel you send down.

I'm sure there are SBFT SE of the island by now. A good shot at cod would be Coxe's Ledge.

Shark should be heating up, and actually next weekend is the Snug Harbor Shark Tournament.

Are you staying on the island?? If not a trailerable 26'CC can easily be pulled to the Cape for a day of Cod and Tuna fishing...

All spots mentioned can be found on the Captain Seagull's charts.

Good luck

Little birdies are tweeting that sbft's have been seen between the fairway buoy and coxes ledge along the 800 line.

Cod, I haven't heard of anyone targeting them. But fluke are in, although picking through the shorts is always fun.

And of course the stripers are there. And shark will be around almost any day now (blue shark are already around).

Good luck.
