Count me in as well.
Reel Pursuit is leaving Sat AM and steaming for the Atlantises for an overnighter. We hope to go lines off by 11am and be trolling by 2pm. Give a shout on ch.68 to share reports.
Catchemup!!
Madeira has a run of mostly smaller big eyes in March-April and sometimes into May. Fish from as small as 15 lbs to about 60 lbs, often averaging 30-40 lbs. 99.99% of the larger tunas caught by the sport fishing fleet there are bigeye. I've heard of only two or three yellowfin caught in that area.Originally Posted by Albatross32
Here's a question.....How come you never hear of anyone catching a BigEye Tuna under say 100 lbs.?? Do the smaller one's exist, and if so where the F do they hang out?
The photos in that recent Galapagos thread in Josh Temple's forum, I am pretty sure, show juvenile bigeye rather than yellowfin. Also seen photos of juvenile bigeyes caught from around the FADs in Hawaii.
