Big Eyes are going off;
OI Bars are a great way to go, bulletproof and supply the teaser and the bait all in one:
Nice option and for single lures here's a couple to keep in mind:
Marlin Magic "Ahi Pussy" Bullet, the name alone is great and the way she runs straight, true and under the surface makes for any easy strike
INSIDE TIP:
ASK ABOUT THE MAGNUM FOR A REAL KILLER BE LURE!
Melton Cherry Jet:
A classic that has caught Marlin, Tuna and some sweet Bigeyes worldwide is the MIT Cherry Jet, comes in three sizes: small, medium and Large, M and Large are the way to go for NE canyons
Tip:
Small Cherry jet trimmed back with a Bally is sweet!
Another productive lure this season in Maderia is the Polu Kai "Rocketman Jet" The boys have a couple fat BE's to their name on this beautiful Custom Lure
Going to give it a go soon myself, cant wait!

Growing up fishing for these south of the lanes this is what made the green machine the be all end all lure. That being said to raise them a dredge with old salty flashers as tight as you can with bally hoo on a clip off the end is deadly Here is a link for the flasher

Striper your right on the green machine, however, for the eyeballs I would use the large weighted version re-rigged of course since what they come rigged with isn't worth a hoot for eye's..deployed back in the shotgun pick up a single, bars get trounced closer in from the packs.
For the North Canyons, you want to stay with dark colors for the lures and heavy. Dark Greens/Black, Dark Purples/Black, Dark Blues/Green/Black

Last weekend we got hit in the morning we had pink and green spreaders in close, two ballywhoo in between set back a little. two spreaders on the outside one green and one blue and purple, two singles to the outside of those, both blue. We got Three fish, and had another 3 on, all on the blue and purple or the ballywhoo's.. Check out the picks on the Canyon 8/9 post.
4 that i can remember over 200 ate the following between 5am and noon
Green machine behind a merrit teaser bird
Ballyhoo skirted with a black and purple seastar
Braid marauder rigged on 12 feet of single strand
naked hoo got scarfed while clearing rat mahi's from a flier pass, bait was just sinking off the long rigger and got nailed
4 of these just went north with the exact 2 stingers. I had enough heads to to another so here it is.
These are heavy duty.

jeez - I told you this was a tackle selling thread.
FWIW - we had a big eye boil and miss on a Offshore Innovations Sniper dragged waaaaaaaay back Chatham style at dawn
Well the above bar is gone, too. More purple heads, better get here quick. Dark Flo Green identical build bar with Dark Flo Green Canyon Machines with Flo Green Silver Fleck Bar went with it. Plus 4 Stingers, 2 Purple weighted Wahoo Bullets and a medium Big Eye in Blue Abalone. For a tournament next week....nice to see a super big eye bite.
