BFT Report 8/5 & 8/2
Trolled east of Chatham on the 2nd for BFT with lines in at daybreak. Patchy fog - a few whales, marking some bait and fish but no hits, no runs, no errors. Very calm - maybe too calm. Jigged up some doggies before crying Uncle.
On the 5th, ran out south of The Claw area. Nobody there - no boats, no birds, no whales, no baits, not even any blues. The area was loaded with skeins of eel grass which was impossible to keep off the rigs for more than a minute. Gave up after 2.5 hrs and headed for Vineyard Sound and some fluke to occupy the evening's grill. |
