Question BFT causes boat to capsize

I am reading this months issue of Northeast boating. This story is a little old as I do remember hearing about a boat that had capsized off Race Point, Provincetown. I saw lots of posts on this. In the coast guard report, they were pulling in a 850lb Tuna on board a 22 foot SeaCraft!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The guy's name Charlie MacLean(23) and his girlfriend Claire(20) spent 2 hrs in the water with out life jackets. The boat was eventually recovered along with the Tuna.

Anyone have more details on this? See page 50 of Northeast Boating Magazine, October 2009. I wonder if the couple is still together.

Can happen easy... I used to giant fish in a 20 sea craft and a 20 aquasport both. Trick was to get fish in and wrap around console to get weight mid ships. In the bow you eat waves. In the stern she just drags you down.
Ran a come along in bow to pull fish from stern forward keeping the boat in gear so we wouldn't start to take on water. Then when weight was up by console, drag across to distribute weight from side to side...

To follow up on flipping a boat while hoisting a fish....

Wanted to bring this thread back. Here is a picture one of my friends sent me....didn't get the name of the boat or who it is in the pic but here is a perfect example of how easy it can be to flip it trying to hoist a fish in.

That's the first thing that came to my mind. It looks like a whale watch boat with everybody over on one side.
