Best Squid Bar

Looking to get some new squid bars just for going trolling every other weekend or so, anyone know of the best colors that seem to work best, thinking about getting some 130's for next year and trying to catch some giants, anyone hook up ever on squid bars?

Offshore Innovations makes the strongest spreader bars on the market. I suggest picking some up from Stew (The Hook Up! and site sponsor).

I have used them extensively and have ZERO complaints with the products.

This fish's last meal was a 13" Tony the Tiger Fishermans Outfitter bar. All the aforementioned bars are good aswell.

I took some other well known makers and had Taylor re-do them. They run better.

If his Dad's trolling success (nobody touches his trolling numbers) means anything to you, I would say you should be confident in purchasing lures made by Taylor. I get envious watching that little pr*ck in the holland troll em up with the bars.

Forget Squid Bars buy Pogies from jb. Talk about envy I think I have thrownup in my mouth watching that Big Chalupa catching real giants in his tin machine.

Alot of good bars out there. All that have been mentioned are great. None of these guys could make a living selling or fishing with crap, so if you are buying what they are fishing you know it is a proven product. When you buy it you are not only buying a piece of steel rod, some mono, line and some rubber squids you are buying hours and hours of field testing and trial and error to find what works and why.

The one thing i try to convey is reguardless of whos bars you buy you should buy bars from the guys that are building and using them on the same fish and in the same areas you are useing them on. Colors, layouts, size all, matter.

This thread looks a lot like everyone putting in a good word for their buddy that makes squid bars. I don't have any buddies that make squid bars so I personally preffer the fisherman's outfitter bars. They all work well but the FO bars are terrific without any tweaking and cheaper than the other makes by a substancial amount. They also run great from a smaller center console boat without really tall outriggers. Some of the ones that are rigged further back so that the bar itself runs out of the water just don't swim well from the riggers of smaller boat. Attached pics of a small giant at 81 inches on black fisherman'ss outfitter bar on the only bluefin trip i did this year. I am a complete weekend warrior and don't know what the hell i'm doing so this just goes to show that any moron trolling a black FO squid bar can get lucky and catch a nice tuna.

defintiely run Black, but black and orange, pink, and narural are good colors. Fisherman's outfitter bars are okay but Taylor Sears does a few things differently that seem to make a difference. He uses 3 ft bars and heavier line to asssemble them. I had a few FO bars that ran like crap because the spacing of the squid was wrong. I like to support the small time guys whenever possible.
