Best location for trophy stripers

In your distinguished opinion(s), where is the best fly fishing for trophy stripers on the East coast? There will be tendency toward bias in most answers, so please try and be as objective as possible. Thanks

Depends on the season. Mid winter NC and VA, Early Spring Upper Chesapeake. Late Spring DE and NJ . Summer and early Fall Montauk and Nantucket.

If you want a really big one on a Fly though, The Suquehanna Flats in March and early April is hard to top.

I agree with Bert.

The CBBT area has been pretty darn good for multiple big fish in the winter over the last few years. It's a great fishery with lots of opportunities at different kinds of fly fishing to catch a trophy. Dredging on structure, casting with gannet beehives all around you, and some night time stuff too. The fish get down to the Corolla, NC area occasionally too and can be a blast in the ocean.

The Susky flats can be insane, or frustrating as hell. There are plenty of chances for a 30+ lb fish there. This year was one of the best in recent history, but the bite was still sporadic. Only certain tides in certain areas on random days.

I don't know much about the NE stuff, but I know there are a few guys here that can definitely help you out.

Thanks guys, I like the idea of the upper Chesapeake flats in spring time. I am really looking for outstanding fishing with a majestic backdrop for a inclusion in a project. And this would be fly specific. Who would you consider to be the striper angling guru in that area?
