In all seriousness, is there some historical significance to this boat? Bertram Grady White. Did Ray Hunt design this?

The For Sale spray painted to the hull is a nice touch.

Google only comes up with the craigslist ad on the searches I tried.
Give Bayside Marine in Duxbury a call, they've been selling them forever.
Looks like a run of the mill late 60's Bertram 28. Good hull but I would imagine, it was not kept in the finest of conditions. Checked every 12 years plus the can of spray paint sign.![]()
Looks like a 25' Bertram. I've never seen a 28 w/iIOs.

nice single axle "commercial" trailer, just repowered in '84![]()
Looks like all bertram to me. The GWs from that era looked like they were lapstrake, even though they were fiberglass...
We've got a '63 Bertram 25,and it looks to me,like a Bertram.That long ugly side window,though?Dunno.If ya buy it,I'll take the tower.![]()
There's no question about not buying it. I'm just curious, I know a lot of hull designers back then were jumping around to different companies.
Probably a case of someone selling the boat who has no idea what they're talking about.
It's either a Bertram 25 "Moppie" or it's possible that C. Raymond Hunt laid up a couple of hulls on his own. In either case that hard top is a "custom" job. It's not a 28 Bert because the bow is rounded and the chine is more like a 31's.
I know Hunt had tried to make their own boats a couple times but nothing took hold until recently. I also remember seeing a few boats with hard tops like this growing up in Buzzards Bay in the mid to late 70's. A fad back in the day maybe?
C. Raymond Hunt and his design firm have penned a lot of boats for many manufacturers, and they all have similar lines. They also design the hulls on modern Grady's, but I dont think that relationship goes all the way back to '68.
