    Bait transportation

Hey all, my names sean and this is my first time posting on this site. Im from cape cod massachusetts and do a lot of striped bass, tuna, and shark fishing up here. I plan on selling live bunker to tuna fishermen. I have a 325 gal tank that will fit in the bed of my dodge and i have all the nets to catch the bunker. I was wondering if any of you guys on this site transport bait by truck and have any tips for rigging the livewell/transportation methods etc. Any help would be gret. Thanks!

    Thumbs up

Sean I looked into trying to keep bait alive and got alot of info from the guys that stock trout for the feds. They use oxygen into a bubble stone to keep them alive you also have to filter to remove waste. The oxygen they use is the same type used for welding as medical grade is expensive. they also told me to put baffles in the tank so liquid does not bang the fish around during transport. PM me your # I would like to buy some from you as will alot of other guys. The more contacts one has improves the odds of getting bait. Good Luck

Sean, like I have said before, get a core group of charter guys that you will sell too and only sell to them, this way you dont have guys calling you all night and morning looking for bait.

Hope that Dodge can carry more then a ton of weight literaly. Water tips the scales at about 8 pounds a gallon. 325 gallons puts you at around 2600 pounds with a full bait tank.

If you can handle the weight, and keep them alive durring transport, and you have all the proper permits and Licenses, I say have at it. The more live bait guys out there the better it will be for the fisherman looking to get live bait.

I'll take pog's in Sandwich - minimum 3 days a week - some weeks more.

Bait pen is next to the boat, money in an envelope, no dicking around with meeting up.

Let me know if you're for real.
