After a long winter, finally got back out for something other than a shakedown cruise. It was a bit raw and damp for the better part of the day, but really nice tobe back on the water and hunting fish. The ride out at 5 am out of Green Harbor was a bit surreal with the massive dune to the left and the breakwall so close on the right, lot of sand came in this winter. The moon tides were severe, and the fishing started off very slowly for me. As we only wanetd to jig with lighter set ups, the deep water was not an option. After trying many different drops with limited success and only a few keepers in the box, I joined the 2 mini-fleets up on the bank, finding only isolated fish and not the lock and load bite we wanted. Moved off a few miles along with Capt. Rich from the Black Rose and found a great pile of nice clean greenback cod up on the bank. Limited out rather quickly with very few shorts and had a nice liesurely ride back in. Still can't feel my hands though, need a few more trips to get rid of the soft hands.
