Back from the edge Aug. 20-21
Fishing was slow Fished the break near the Middle grounds. Very slow for most of us out there lately. The troll was dead for us. All are fish came from the night bite. We managed 7 small yellows to 30pounds through out the night, And a nice size sword that we landed. She took the sword bait 150 feet down with a strobe light and live squid that was put on 3 minutes before she hit. Lots of bait around the boat threw out the night. We did not see any life out there at all not one whale, turtle, porpoise etc.....NOTHING On the way home we went to go try the 600square to see if we could pull something out of there. We spotted about a 40 foot long tree floating so we motored over there and was filled with mahi. Stayed there for an hour to cast to some mahi and loaded up. Beautiful days out there wish the fishing was a little better lets hope the bite turns wide open soon. I was planning to make another run to the edge tommorow but i dont think its worth heading back out there again any time soon. Photos and some cool video footage to come soon. ~Catch em up |

I guess that's a little better than it's been. At least the nite bite is developing now that those long summer days are coming to an end. But, where are all the yellowfin? It's been rats all summer. Congrats on the sword!!!
Thanks for the report Blake. Andy's thinking next week. I'm just not sure if I want to go all the way to the edge when we have a good bluefin bite going on to the E. And how the hell are we going to haul a tree out there?? ![]()

don't go; the bite stinks; fuel is really expensive and wait till someone else finds them and posts coordinates.
