Atlantis Canyon 7/5

Is it me or is the canyon fishing right now just silly? Fished Atlantis and did very well on yellows. After putting 7 in the boat, went to a marlin spread and cranked it up a few knots. And then our marlin spread was rudely demolished by two more hungry tuna...

The fish in the top picture and the bottom picure are actually bigeyes and nice ones at that. Congratulations on an awesome catch!

I had thought bigeyes too but I defer to those that have been fishing longer than me to i.d. If they were yellows, it would be a very impressive catch. The two big fish ate a black bart hot breakfast and a moldcraft chugger chain with a ballyhoo behind a bird. We were pulling through a pod of Risso's Dolphin's at 11 knots when the two long riggers went off. We knew right away they were big fish, took our time working them in and then pulling them up when they sounded.

Clark has been on a very specific lifting regimen and high protein diet for peak canyon physicality. Those long hours of preparation, and the overall intimidation that comes with the sleaveless first mate tee shirt, combine to break a fish's spirit early in the fight.
