    Atlantis Canyon

Fished Atlantis Canyon Saturday and Sunday. Found a 3 degree temp break towards the Veatch and had a white Marlin on for awhile but could never get a solid hookup. No tuna on the troll but lots of Mahi. Swords and Tuna came at night anchored up in the Atlantis Canyon on the West Wall at the 100 fathom line. Just had the Sword for dinner and very tasty. (wish he was bigger but he was legal). Six tuna, all on chunk. Schools came calling at one am and at four am. Blue sharks wear tearing up our lines like crazy. If not for the sharks I think we could have doubled our catch. One time we had two tuna on and a big blue shark had the other three lines in has fat freakin mouth! No complaints though. Best trip of the year and thanks to my awesome crew!

Is that Bill Carlson in the pics??? I used to work on his beautiful Bertram years ago at Port Milford. Good to see him up and fishing I know he had some serious knee problems back when I worked at the marina. That is if it is him. Congrats from a fellow Milfordite!

    they are all good
How were the conditions? I did a last minute scrub based on NOAAs deteriorating forecast. You must have had the canyon to yourself.

Conditions were actually good except from around 7pm to midnight. It blew 30 knots and then laid down for us. Great ride home with the wind out of the East!
