thanks for the response. did it require a swim to get it unwrapped?

i want to move up to a bigger express like your albemarle, but i keep thinking to the time i was travelling down near the Newport bridge at night, i just passed one tug/barge combo and another tug/barge combo was coming.

i wrapped a pot and had to stop right in the channel, tilted motors and was able to get out of there before the 2nd tug got anywhere close. but at 1 am, (and it was October with cold water), i dont know what i would have done with an inboard.

We did about 26kts out and same coming back.
I had the feeling the NW wind was going to hang on a bit further south and it might be a slow ride. Maybe I was still tired from Friday's trip but I wanted to run all the way to edge and not take 4+ hours to get there

Sounds like a good trip! Nice work fellas. I'm dying to go this weekend with such a nice weather window but I'm on girlfriend duty. It's birthday weekend. Time to spend some money. Totally blows. Catch em up though.

I Started running spurs line cutters 2 years ago. They work, excellent. I haven't had one get wrapped up yet with them on the boat. I have cut several. Three years ago I hit a flyer with no radar reflector on it 55 knots south of Montauk at 21 knots. It scared me, and It made me think about hitting big log at that speed in the dark that far out. I don,t run that fast at night any more. I leave earlier and fish later. I am going this weekend fri 3 pm to sunday dark thirty if the weather forecast holds.
