    Any truth to the rumor?

Been busy working and traveling lately, but there are rumors circulating about pods of 40-50" bft popping up between the Gurnet and Minots.

Any confirmation of this or has anyone gone after them exclusively?

If there are some steady sightings I might take a quick scouting trip some day this week and see what I can find. If anyone has any info they could share that would be great. Thanks!

We have seen many fish in the afternoon. even as close as Davis ledge bouy off of Minot. Can't say for further south of H Bouy but we have seen many fish close to shore 4 to 8 miles. We have not spent a lot of time on them. We caught some fish at H Bouy a month ago all over 59".

Confirmed, afternoon Friday/Saturday saw a couple small pods of 50" fish pushing North from the Pilgrim Plant, followed them past Dux Beach. Less than a mile off shore. I have not found anyone who claims to be able to catch them. Look to be feeding on very small macks. Tough to figure out their movement and they don't stay up long.

    Thanks for the replies.

Interesting stuff. I wonder if its an afternoon thing or tide related. There was a pretty strong rising tide in the afternoon, Saturday.

Either way I think I'll try and track 'em down one afternoon this week.

See them most every time i'm there but nothing bigger then footballs on the surface and they seem to vegetarians and they're hard to head off for casting good luck, not much fuel to try, do some bass and blues and cod in the meantime

Going out on Thursday afternoon to see what I can see... Changed the hooks out on my smaller mac colored yo-zuris I sometimes use for stripers. Who knows if they'd hold up, but worth a try. At least if I boat something I can actually keep it.

    Kayak Fun

If they're less than a mile I expect the kayak fleet after them.

Went out today with a buddy of mine to see what i could track down.

Cruised from Minots to Duxbury Beach and back up from 3 - 7 with absolutely no signs of life. Wind was out of the southeast and it was choppy. I figure we were about 5-7 miles off shore and didnt see any activity.

Trip wasnt a complete washout as we came back into Boston Harbor by Deer Island and the bass bite was terrific.

    Going back out again Saturday...

Temps on that side of the Bay dropped about 6 degrees. It was good there last week, but the temp drop closed it out. Eastern Bay still has some surface action but they are moving fast. Good luck..
