I haven't seen a fish on the SWC the entire year. We don't even look there anymore.

We used to call it "the greatest show on earth".

    Very sad.

the guys that have taken fish lately have been doing the chunking on the whiting grounds, I have heard that the live bait thing on balloons and kites is dead, on the flip side chatham is hot on the troll.

from what Ive heard, chatham is hot, ipswitch bay is warm, and everything in between is stone cold dead.

I have heard no good reports from the bank in a while.

I may groundfish this weekend as chatham is too far a run for me and there's nothing that makes me want to burn gas looking for tuna north of chatham or south of ipswitch bay.

Going to scour NWC sunday or monday. Have heard reports of people at least seeing fish there for over two weeks and it's a hell of a lot closer to port for me.

Ditto. Three years ago the area looked like an aquarium. This year it has been dead for me. Minimal whales, minimal bait, zero to zilch tuna. We actually got excited when a sole fish broke off our bow two weeks ago after pounding pavement for six hours. I'm fishing east then switching over to groundfish before the 01 November closure.

FWIW, people had been seeing fish chasing half beaks and small macs at the NWC and just off of it, but the action was inconsistent and not sustained. there hasnt been a good bite there trolling or with bait for a while.

good luck though, I hope you crush em, its closer for me too!

Weather has closed down most boats down the past 4 days so no one knows whats out there except off Chatham which is in the lee. This weekend looks primo for the GOM. Best way to find fish is to
get off the keyboard and go fishing...thats my plan!!!!
