    Question Am I Crazy

I have a 23 foot hydro-sport wa and i have taken it to a place called the little fish tails trying for tuna.i would like to get to the 80f line in and around block canyon which is about 65nm from the nearest piece of land Montauck NY.my boat is equipped with radar,gps,vhf,e-perb,and ditch bag with other ods and ends.i will be buying a life raft this spring to be even safer.most of the trips are myself and one or two other guys never more than three of us on boat per trip.most of my acquaintances say i am crazy and the boat isn't made for off shore trips like this.i would like some opinions from you guys at sfc:

Good for you dude, keep making those offshore runs. Pretty soon you'll start seeing mermaids. Big-eye mountain is just calling you in.

I took my 23' Mako out to the 'tales..........once. South of fifty fathoms several times. In August. FLAT calm. If'n the weather's good enough 23' is plenty. If you get caught in the shit, you'll wish you had never been born.
Choose your days real carefully, and you will have no problem. See you out there!!

Fuel must be an issue too, what engines & tanks do you have.

It's a good idea to know what your range is at different speeds. Inevitabley, you always want to go further than expected. Where ever you decide to go, always have a reserve amount of fuel in case the weather kicks up. You will burn much more fuel in big seas than when it's calm.
