I was hoping someone could let me know how Allen Harbor in Harwich, MA handled Irene since we are hours away. Thanks.

Allen Harbor took all the boats off the morings which was a good thing they did beause we had a fair amout of surge and wind. The harbor is well protected and I think everything was fine. Can't say the same for Herring river. Boats got dragged and some sunk.
My boat is there and was o.k. Not a lot of rain but some high winds.
FHC are you over at the yacht club or in a slip at Allens ? I was supprised at the lack of reporting of the storm on the lower cape. When that wind turned from the SE to the SW it really blew. I stayed on the boat and other than ripping out my dock kleets I was fine. I was morte worried about other boats breaking free and doing damage to my boat.
in a slip...they beefed up the docks and put in taller pilings when they re-did them after Bob which was just a huge mess.
I saw some live footage on the news from South Yarmouth a few times but once it got downgraded to a Tropical Storm decided to ride it out and not pull her out. Did hear that it blew like hell but agree they made the right call making the moored boats come out.
A few boats and docks went up the oyster river off stage harbor. Many docks got messed up too. Close to 90 % pulled so there wasnt much in the way. Otherwise it might have been a real **** show.
Thanks for the info guys.
