Exclamation To all those that care about herring, pair trawlers, etc- CHOIR FB Page

    Hey guys

As many of you know, management of herring is very important to just about every fishery in the region. Not only is this an important issue in general, but it is especially important now because there will be a very important round of meetings taking place this winter and spring regarding Amendment 5, which was started three years ago in order to push for better observer coverage on the "midwater" trawlers, both single and pair. CHOIR is the coalition that has led the way on this issue and there is now a CHOIR Facebook page that people can "Like" in order to stay in the loop on all things herring. This is really important and so please take a moment to go on and "like" the page. This will keep you updated on the important meetings and issues that will be coming up in the near future. And please spread the word to others, as well!!!

    THANKS

Thanks guys, given that there are thousands of us that care about this issue, should see a lot of 'likes', it really does not get any easier than this to stay in the loop on an issue that directly impacts all of us. Take two seconds and like it!

Thought this could use a BUMP...since the 'likes' on their page are not growing very rapidly. And here is their official website

Supporting the CHOIR coalition, even by "liking" it on FB, is a small easy thing we can all do that will help the future of tuna-, striper- and ground-fisheries in our region.
Look at the recent reports of January Bluefins in RI, or the (for now) resurgent cod at BI.
More herring=more fish we like to catch.
Giant inshore midwater/pair trawling operations literally sucking millions of pounds of key bait species is not good.
Help out guys; a little does a lot.
