ALERT - There are sea-cows in Boston Harbor
SFC took to the water bright and early this morning in search of Billy Bass.. Thumbs up for the 2 crew, Rory (Codfishshark) and Justin (Mahi) who were at the dock with time to spare for the 4AM departure. The trip started off without a hitch.. then about 15 minutes into our steam we jinxed the hell out of the boat. We mentioned how well the boat was running after the carbs had recently been redone and not 3 minutes later the engine starts to struggle and loose RPM's due to a lack of fuel. Ohhh well, we were all in high spirits so we said F it and continued on at a solid 10Kt cruise! We got to our destination and out came the gill net, after about 45 minutes or so we had enough baits to last us the couple hours that we'd be fishing this morning. With the livewell full, adding a couple hundred pounds to the boat, we were now down to about 7 kts and our hopes of making it out to George's Island or Boston Light were unrealistic. We contemplated a few areas a bit closer and decided to work some structure on the backside of Peddock's Island. This decision was partially made because codfishshark wanted to catch a glimpse of Leonardo DiCaprio who is filming the new movie "Ashecliffe" at Peddock's Island, you fairy!... Welp that didn't happen but we did get into a couple nice fish right off the bat. We hooked up and landed a 39" fatty almost immediately after lines in. After some high fives and failed chest bump attempts we repositioned and set up our drift again. Shortly after, the baitrunner started zingin'.. the hook was set and the fight was on... Billy was not happy as a few minutes later he knew he'd be STRIPERNBOX. Endded up measuring out at 42".. didn't get a weight on it but she was a fat A$$... Action died down after that.. Endded up 2 for 2.

Well done Steve!
After 2 days of stormy, and therefore quiet seas, I would expect a great day! Where'd you drop the net for bait? |

Nah, not cold... bout 60 degrees when we went out.. I guess i'll blame it on the lack of dry storage on the boat.. need a bigger boat! |

Sorry for the delay on my post...I was busy cooking Striper last night after work. Great morning on the water with Skunked Again and Codfishshark. Great way to spend a Wednesday morning before work. Can't wait to do it again. I am pushing for a SWC run before work some morning. Special thanks go out to Skunked Again for his hospitallity and ability to find the fish and Codfishshark for his humor.
