    Aftco Storabutt

I have been looking at the Aftco Storabutts.I currently have fixed bent butts for my Penn 130’s and was looking at the storabutts to make them easier to store the rods on the boat. Has anyone used them and how do you like them? Do they loosen up at all when fishing? Any input would be helpful
    Thanks

I have them on my 130's and they work great. The only problem is you have to take off the rear braces on Penn 130 reels to take the butts off, with Shimano's this is not a problem. I put them on with a rubber strap wrench and they have never loosened up on me. Expensive though. Capt. Eric

Makes storing everything a breeze, its perfect to be able to put everything away into those odd sized closets and storage lockers on boats

Have them on my 50's, 70's, and 80's. It might be different on the 130's, but I love them. Occasionally I find one that has loosened, but just put the strap wrench to it and you're good. Makes storage and swapping out butts easy.

I use them on 50-80 class rods so I can switch from straight to bent and back without messing with the line. Handy when fishing on OPBs.
No, they ain't cheap. Nor is an Aftco #6 unibutt

All this talk about Butts. I can't wait for Bikinis on the Beach Dennis I have Aftco 2 piece bent butts not "store a butts" on every Rod 5o# and bigger. Keep a Rubber Strap wrench on the boat to tighten when you put them together. I use Just a bent butt for my Kite Rod with a self winding reel works great because you can turn it in the swivel rod holder and it puts the reel at the perfect position to reel in.

Your more than welcome to stop by and experiment if you want. I think Rob has a couple of them too. I have just about every 2 piece bent butt made.

Ronny Braun is a good Friend of Lee and a distributer he has good prices on Lee. If you are commercial you can buy from him. I just recently bought 4 "Pacific Bay" 2 piece bent butts from him for about 40% cheaper than Aftco. As far as the Store a Butt with the front and back coming apart. I always replace my terminal tackle every day so I would not spend the extra money for the store a butt but I have a couple.
