    African Safari

My friend went on an African Safari very cool I didn't think he wanted his picture on the Internet because he shot some pretty wild stuff on his vacation and some Greenys might attack him. Here is a picture of him incognito with one of the exotic animals he got.

    You are bad.

    Although, it is an improvement.

People really shoot elephants still? (serious question)

    I figured there's 10,000 laws against it.

Ya I said the same thing? Jerry the Giraffe was even more of a question?

I guess in Zimbabwe you can still kill anything for money He told me the Elephants are destroying the place like dogfish and people are trying to get hunters to come kill them. They are also real poor and the money he spent for his Safari supported the country for a month not to mention all the meat went to the natives.

I've got a friend that goes there and he told me the same thing. I'd love to do it, but I need to win the lottery twice before I could afford it. Nice pics though. I've got a .416 Rigsby in the safe for the day I get the chance though.

My old boss used to do that kind of stuff.... We called his office the "Dead Zoo". Yes you can blam elephants. He blammoed two dumbos with a .458. Hell even saw a gal take one with a bow on TV this summer. They once in a while have to cull nuisance herds where they are destroying crops or squashing natives... A permit goes for about $35,000 on top of what ever the hunt costs are. That money goes to protecting them in the preserves from Ivory poachers...
Ironically I was supposed to head off to South Africa this morn but just too busy here. Sent wife, kid and her friend in my place. Had a one day bok hunt schedule but cancelled and changed to photo safari for them. Now the poor girls are stuck in Philly trying to get to Washington (Snowed in) to make early evening connection...
