IMO....if your teaser and mainlines are tinged white instead of clear, or have curls you may consider re-rigging. Sounds like they should be fine though by your details. Hanging them is the best thing you can do over the winter. If you have a place to hang them all winter do it. Your lines will stay slightly curled how you placed them in your bags. We just bang a nail in the rafters of the basement and hang 'em up, seems to work well.

I dont re-rig unless the bar is about to break in half, or the main line gets nicked or chaffed. I do not rinse off my bars either, smell your squid after you rinse them off, it will smell like rubber again.

i noticed that not only did the line curl to the shape it was stored but the skirts on the squids are curved and stuck together in funny shapes too......they're not all perfectly straight....they also stick together a little bit too....i dunno if that is normal after some use or not??? here are some photos to show what i'm trying to explain

please tell me if this is normal or if i'm storing these things wrong i don't know this was my first year tuna fishing and i wanna take care of the gear since it's costly.

Re rig your bars if the lines are hazy, if the bars have caught a few fish, or if the yellow eyed devils found your bar. Look at the crimps. If they look corroded real bad re rig the bar. If the lines arent straight when hanging change the wing lines. It is quick to do and I'd rather have full confidence in the bar and its connections than just winging it. FWIW- I will rerig the same bars a few times a year since I fish out of the 30+ bars I own only a handful of the same ones every trip.

As for the squid tails curling a bit, the fish dont care.
