I will be heading up to the Portland meeting.
Respectfully.
Great, Curt. I hope that others here are planning on going and are just not posting about it. This is serious guys. Many of you spend a lot of time chasing these fish and need to speak up and tell them what you see, think, etc. Just ask yourself if spending a half day (or less, depending on where you live) going to one of these meetings is worth if it means helping ensure that you can even go near these fish next summer...
Sending an email. Can't attend

im going to rally a crew for portland
i will be there trying to rally the troops here in boothbay area, let's make them wish they had booked the civic center!
I will be going to both, if wee had 60 boats on georges and 80 boats sitting in ipswichbay.. and then one real good day on the swc at the end of the run there which produced like 67 boats the next day. We should be able to get a strong turn out at these meetings..
I remember fishing a spot of maine in june and there being 40 lobster boats on the hook that hadn't been on the hook in years there should be a really nice show at portland.
Come on boys we NEED everyones support and attendance!!!!

Why is it there are just a few posts on this thread regarding the meetings. Folks certainly take plenty of time to post pictures, post trip reports both local and abroad but few have mentioned here if they are going to these meetings.
This is as serious if not more than ICCAT, CITES and other meetings as it puts a complete ban on fishing on tuna.
If you are in port which most are, plan on going or send someone to represent you. I am headed to the Portland meeting and taking a vacation day to attend and we need everyone. Not sure why the lack of response here but tell all of your friends, fishing buddies and family about these important meetings. We need to attend, speak in a professional tone and have hundreds at each meeting.
I also hope we have some support on this from Senator Snowe, Brown, Congressman Frank and others prior to this meeting and get some solid press coverage.
We need to let the average citizen understand the BS and hardships being placed on the ABFT fisherman.
Respectfully,
Dave
