8/29 East of the Dump
We left the dock at 430am and ran to a spot about 5 miles east of the Dump that showed a 71-74* temp break.
I pulled up a couple miles short of our waypoint as the temps started climbing and we put lines in. We didn't even get all the lines in when the right long goes off. Ends up being a small 30" bluefin and another tuna cherry is popped.
Lines back in and we continue south in the confused sea. Seas state was a lot sloppier than expected but manageable. I decided that under the circumstances, we're not travelling much beyond the bottom of the Dump. As it turns out, we didn't need to. The whole eastern side of the dump had life, draggers and eager fish. Albeit small ones. We had a few double headers here and there. Seas layed down by 11-12:00 and made for a nice afternoon. We continued to work the 73-74* water with a steady pick. Final tally: 8 BFT up to 35lbs and 2 mahis. And we got back to the dock by 4pm for a change!!
