70 years young and still "Gettin 'er Done"!!

This was one of those special weekends I'll never forget. Not so much for the fishing (which sucked). But to be in the company of some very cool friends. I had the distinct pleasure to fish with Oldmud (Don), Rusty and FishPimp (Chris). We met at the Pimp cave Fri afternoon, a dynamite pad tucked away in a quiet spot on the lower cape. Oldmud, Pimp and I were up until 1AM preping for the weekend. After 2 hrs of sleep Rusty shows up on Sat at 3AM and we're off. We trolled from the fishing ledge to PHB and along the southern edge of the Stellwagen. Same reports, sand-eels all over, stripers and bluefish, plus some disorganized whale feeding.

By the end of the day, we had a good 7-rod spread dialed in for Pimp's ride, a 23 Parker CC

Rusty had to split Sat nite and relieve the wifey. And after a few hours sleep, we were at it again. We skipped the fishing ledge since it looked pretty much lifeless the day before. We headed straight for the parking lot known as SWC. I don't know why people fish there. It's a complete cluster-f*k of boats trolling around. But that's another television program.

Same/similar spread dialed in from the day before
    - 2 bars on the P rigger (aka the bait ball) with a deep diver from the corner under the bars,
    - 2 ballyhoo on the SB rigger,
    - a bar on the SB corner with a sluggo chase bait off the center,

We headed for the east side of the bank. I don't know if it's got a name. Just anywhere, off the flats and away from the crowd. Made wide turn around a whale and SB long popped and the fire drill began

We get none other than oldmud in a belt. Somehow, I think Chris and I both knew this was something special. Nothing needed to be said. Pimp and I just smiled at each other and watched as the tuna king himself "gettin 'er done" With Chris at the helm, we had the fish up-and-down and Mud was "walkin the dog" on his FIRST bluefin on STANDUP gear!!! Classic shit! One I won't forget. And a week before his 70th birthday.

Don, when I grow up, I want to be just like you.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY DON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And a very special thank you to Chris, our gracious host. Saying this was a great friggen time would be an understatement.

PS We got video but will take a little while to put it together. And check out that poon shot - my first! Yes, I've gone to the darkside with a poon given to me by Seeker. Thanks Vinny. Looks like it works. Talk about EASY. Probably why IGFA doesn't allow them. I'll post up more on how Don and I pimped out the boat stick later.
