Thumbs up 7/8 West Atlantis pics

Capt. Roland and Rob on board for a trip south. Slow day for us, 5 yellows up to 60lbs. Larger fish came in 78* water at the edge. Micros were in cooler water near the 80 fathom curve. Nice dolphin show just above the Lanes. Small guys just surfing in the wake and diving under the bow. No matter how many times I go south it just never gets old.

Way to shake the rust off Pete.

Not bad for a day trip to the edge.

Your right it never gets old. There's always something new to experience. I guess that's what keeps us going.

    Pete,

Given the time you were able to spend in the strike zone, that was a good trip. Sure beats my trip east yesterday. Second straight trip that I found them every where, but couldn't get them to eat.

    Mike-
How did the launch go? You gotta be chompin' at the bit by now!

    Larry-
There's a warm pocket coming off the edge near W. Atlantis that reaches up to the 70/80 F curve. Could be a pre-cursor to a good bite up on the flats.

    Mike-
Sorry to hear about the frustration out east. I hear there's a lot of fish but they seem to have lockjaw.

Nice pics! Can I ask what your fuel burn numbers/speed is when you're loaded for the canyons?

I burn about 24 gph at 30kts in greasy conditions for about 1.4 mpg. It drops to about 1.1 to 1.2 mpg in the slop. Typical canyon run for me.from fairhaven is about 180 gals.

Wow, I'm jealous. I got thirsty ox66's. In greasy calm the best I'll do is 1.1, usually 1.0 loaded on way out. In the slop it could drop to 0.7-0.9.
