Talking 5/23 Happy Birthday Sharkgirl! (Report)

If Kirby bringing the mojo to the Cape wasn't good enough, we took it to the next level today. Mike C brought 2 Time World Record Holder Sharkgirl a.k.a Sis out to fish with Kirby and Me. With a lineup like that we were set to put a beating on the fish today. We decided to change things up today and we went to CC Bay for the first time this year. We splashed in Sandwich and ran out into the bay. The NW wind @ 20+ kts had the bay a mess of 4-5' confused whitewater. Even in the big Contender the water was big and ugly. I got the boat on top of the mess and we ran out into the bay looking for macks to liveline for bass.

We never did find the macs, but it didn't slow us down a bit. We found acres and acres of birds crashing small bait over BIG fish. We sloshed around in the washing machine that was Cape Cod Bay while tossing surface plugs and deep jigging for the miles of bass all around us.

Fish after fish came to the boat. As the fish came in there were always tons of fish following them. Triples and Quads were the rule.

We had to weed through a dozen or so 30" fish to get to the bigger fish. It was a tough job but we were up to the task. With Dad by her side Sis showed why she has her name in the record books and on a Governor's Cup trophy.

For a girl that only gets out fishing once in a while due to work and maintaining high honors in school she can hang with the best of them, and she's not opposed to showing the guys how to catch the REALLY big fish.

When the tide turned and the wind layed down the size of the fish dropped off, but getting around to them became easier. We hammered a ton of mid 20" to mid 30" fish under bright sun and calming waters. Around 1400 we were all smoked and decided to save a little for the next few days of fishing, so once again we left them bitting and tearing up the surface.

Final tally somewhere in the 150-200 fish range for the boat. The bigger fish were in the 40" range. The lures of choice were small Ocean Lures in Olive (they were great when the wind was howling since they cast a mile) When the wind calmed down the Olive Salty's Needle had a more subtle presentation and really came into it's own. Mike C used a girls best fiend to bring up some big fish from under the surface feeding fish. Yo-Zuri swimmers in Gold Mac and Blk/Silver also landed their share. The water was around 40-50' deep.

Overall just a great way to celebrate Sharkgirl's Birthday!
