Fished yesterday at the 40 fathom fingers south of montauk. Got caught in a thunder storm on the way out, black cloud hovering real tight to the water.Caught 2 small yellows largest maybe 30lbs. Lost 2 fish, one nice one which dumped half a 50 before the hook pulled, mystery fish. Was blessed with a floating long on the way in which was loaded with mahi to save the day. Had 3 young boys with me who bailed the mahi on spinners. Maybe 20-30 mahi, lost count as it was pretty hectic. Kept 8 let the rest go. Kids had a blast. Should have stayed right on the break as all my hits came there.
