    2012 Hyannis Tuna-Fest June 21 thru 23..NEW INFO!!

    To those of you interested,

The Second Annual 2012 Hyannis Tuna-Fest will be held June 21st thru 23rd at Trader Eds Restaurant/Hyannis Marina. We're hoping to make this event bigger and better than last year. Boats will be allowed to leave from any port. For more information, please visit www.hyannistunafest.com. There will be a registration booth for Tuna Fest at the Big Game Bash Seminar, and we will be giving away tournament fleece vests to anyone registering.

It will be a lot of fun. Last years event was close to the 4th of July and consequently we only had 16 boats. If we can secure 25 plus boats this time around, that will allow us to really expand the event and add things like bigger cash pots/prizes...and bikini contests Trader Eds is a lot of fun..great place to hold an event like this, and John Shea and I are going all out. But to really do it right, we need participation. It is very hard to run an event like this without 20 plus boats. Its a ton of work and risk, which is why most people dont dare try and create a sportfishing tourney lol. However I will say I am planning to do whatever I can to make the Tuna Fest series as entertaining as humanly possible. Thats what a good tournament is really about. Im always open to suggestions too. In fact because of outside input, I have decided to allow vessels to leave from any port and to also hold the awards ceremony on Saturday night. To ensure a well managed and controlled event, the festivities, live entertainment, food, vendors, and weigh station will be in Hyannis. For those of you who might be interested in running charters, Id be more than happy to forward inquiries and interested parties for this event when able. Back to the PATS...steamrolling tebow lol

    GREAT EVENT!

Fished the inaugural event last year and had a blast. Look forward to fishing it again this year. This tourney is a great time. Awesome atmosphere( How can you go wrong with Trader Ed's?) good competition, great prizes and calcuttas.

I second that!! Last year's event was a blast!! It was a great format and alot of fun. The June date is even better. No conflicts with other events and the June bite in Chatham the last 3 years has been great. I am open if anyone wants to go. Capt. Eric

Are slips available in Hyannis for this event? I am considering entering and just thinking about the logistics returning to Hyannis to unload and sticking around for dinner etc. I might be able to get a couple of other boats to enter as well.

Sounds like an awesome event. Gonna try and get the Gladiator in on this one. Plus you can never argue with Trader Ed's on a Friday or Saturday!!
