    2010?

Lets try to take our minds off of the CITES issue here for a second. I asked the same question last year. What do you think is going to produce the fish this year?

Is it going to be live bait again for out on the bank? What about some splash bars out east? Ballyhoo seemed to work for a few guys last year all over the place. Are the fish going to be to big to jig/throw poppers at? Just something to think about for the next three months.....

Unless you have an accurate or stella spinner, I'm gonna say they will be too big for spinning gear. Some of the more experienced spin anglers will probably get the job done a few times, but then again, the more experienced spin anglers will be the guys with the big gear.
Live bait will probably be big again, it will be interesting to see what the herring boat ban does as I think this year we will notice a large difference in that.
There will always be the old standbys that pull a fish out every now and then (slug-go's, X-raps, bars) but as far as what the fish are really keyed into could be a totally new gimmick, or the same as last year.......

Actually i am hopeing to see a return of the smaller fish we were seeing last season. Alot of guys i know were in some good schools of smaller fish in the 40 to 50 lb class. It would Be nice to see more then one year class of fish out there.

We'll be lucky if we are even allowed to fish for them. I can see the next rallying point for PEW now. "US OK's take of a fish that is on the engangered species list." If you think that they are not going to finish off any fishing at all for the bluefins once this CITES goes through you are in denial.

Sorry for the doom and gloom, but if it doesn't happen I will be able to be pleasantly suprised, rather than being throroughly pissed off if it does.

Love to speculate, but I'm with On The Edge, we saw 2 days last fall on southern Jeffries where small/small footballs were mixed nicely with 50-100-200 # class BFT ~ it was cool to see and added to your hookup potential to have smaller fish mixed with the wiser old boys.

Almost all summer our fish were feasting on smaller-the-better metals.....smaller 2-3 oz crip herring, megabaits.....but it had to be small......and MainePriority was swearing on swapping out for bigger hooks.

I'd love to be able to drag bars up on Jeffs' or fish the pogies like you guys do.....but I'm not sure it's working much north of NWC

A lot of people ran up to Jeff's and Pidgeon Hill.......anybody on here have any time on the Gulf of Maine water last year?
