Hi new here..... hope this is good for a first post.
Well after 8 trips to swc and ph with no love, decided to try chatham 8/3 line tight but broke it off. Finally 10th total trip this year and 2nd to chatham on 8/9, lines in at 5:30am whales and birds workin everywhere, but no fish that I could see. Derick dozes off at 8:15 and at about 8:30 he wakes up to me kickin and yelling at him to wake the f**k up, fish on!! Only the 2 of us on the boat, cleared lines fought fish for about 25 minutes. Derick gaffed him perfect on the first try, I tail roped, then pulled him in. measured 60 inches. Hive fived and headed home. long Rigger, black bar, white stinger, from the hook up. No whales or birds nearby where we hooked . A day that will truly never be forgotten. Cant wait to do it all over again Special thank to eric for putting on his seminars so i wasnt going at it completely blind.
And for those of you wandering why I wasnt answering radio, I lost power to electronics right after fish was landed.
Also thanks to kevin, chris, and curt for the intel.
I will try to get some pics posted soon.
