I currently own a 95 Albemarle 262CC. The boat was outfitted with twin yamaha saltwater series outboards but has a hold underneath the leaning post for an inboard engine fitted with a jackshaft and a sterndrive. none of the holes have been cut for the sterndrive but the setup for the engine is there. So my question is what type of engine should i be looking at when it comes to gas (diesel is out of the question due to cost)? we looked at some mercruisers, i believe it was the 496 375hp. Just looking for ideas from people who may have done something like this or have a friend that has done something like this. Also any idea on cost for these engines?
