The Big gag was victim of " SevenSea's Revolver" jig. That fish was caught on first drop.I knew it was going to be "GOOD' day after that!

Those Seven Seas are pricey...I guess they might be worth it.
SWEET!!!
Awesone Trip thanks for the pics.
How were you rigging that Roscoe jig did you have the mainline tied to the fat end or the skinny end.
I have heard in deepwater you have to have the big end of the jig down so it wont flutter to get to the bottom, any thoughts on that, it seems you have first hand experience.
By the way you can get the roscoe jigs at east coast in topsail or eastern outfitters in hampstead, I got some this weekend after this post (HAHA)
i rig it fat end down, and bounce it off the bottom for grouper and such (a fat cobia likes it that way too). also if you dont get bit while on the bottom you can jig it up in the water column and almost always get an AJ.
I have used a dunk shot jig..which is the same thing and have had great results..but only when it was tipped. I lost mine on the last trip...now I am thinking about taking a bottom sinker and painting it with glow paint and using it the same way..much cheaper!!
The reel was an accurate 870n
You can get the roscoe jigs at Texs tackle in wilmington or any tackle shop that carries bluewater candy.
We rig them just as you would a butterlfy jig. Solid ring or swivel (swivel preferrred) And rig your assist hook to the solid ring or swivel. Rig it skinny end up.
