I know this is the jigging forum. But let me ask about bait rods cause you guys are good. Do you think going with a hi testing 60lb momoi diamond mono on an avet 30 is the right thing to get the extra yardage on the reel, or just go with 80.This rod will be for party boat tuna in the northeast canyons. OK lets hear it guys. Thanks Bob

    Best Catch
The next bite on a jig.
    Avet specs:

Avet Pro EX 30 Aluminum Lever Drag Reels

    * Avet Lever Drag control system.
    * Avet Pro-EX 30s have 35lb Max Drag on Strike with Free Spool.

    Avet PRO-EX 30 2 Speed Reel 50lb/400yd. 3.8:1 & 2.0:1 51 oz.

Based on the spec, If I had to do mono I would go with 60lb and fish 20lbs of drag at strike. Less resistance in the water than the 80, and more capacity. Sufix superior is tough mono also.
