As Gman said stick with what you have till you find out if you want to continue this style of fishing.

I'm new to this jigging system as well and have followed this thread and more for some time and learned a great deal.

i started with a Penn Torque TJ3080C66 30-80 lb tst for braid and 6' 6" long, don't know the jig rating, I have a Torium 30 on it with 65 lb Power Pro, it's a low budget outfit (250.00) compared to others but it gets the job done.

For the amount of jigging I do this is a great setup for me.
I use it for drum, striper, tog and some small yft.

That is one badass setup for NC. You will use it for many years and if taken care of, will still hold its value. I'm sure it will be able to handle most anything out there.

I'm very happy with it, I'm itching to really put some good bends in it. I plan on many years of use from it, I'm very particular with my gear. I have a penn 6/0 I bring out sometimes for people to use, I bought it in 1985 in Okinawa you can't tell it from some of my stuff that is 2-3 years old.
